Come and share during our Helsinki Design Week workshops your personal love story of some of your dear clothes that need fixing or upgrading. Tell about a situation or experience wearing those clothes that was full of love and laughter. Discuss with our local upcycling designers and creative mending experts who will assist you in giving your clothes a new or longer life.

Have you got a stain on your t-shirt? Holes in woollen socks? A tear in your blouse? Moth holes in your sweater? Ripped jeans?

‘Reduce, reuse, repurpose, repair, recycle’

Sustainable fashion expert Kasia Jamrozik of Upstitch Studio will show you how to enhance damaged clothes with more or less visible hand mending techniques. With the motto ‘put your money where your values are’, Kasia is dedicated to reducing waste from fast fashion. This course welcomes everyone from beginners to experts.

You can learn more about Kasia from her Instagram @Upstitch.Studio or email info@upstitch.studio

Kasia will provide needed tools and materials  – much of which she sources from Kierrätyskeskus (Recycling Centre) and Dome Upcycling. However, you are welcome to bring any of your own equipment. and if you have already found just the right thread please bring it along.

The visible mending classes take place at Dome Upcycling work space in the Itis shopping mall in Helsinki. You can find the space here.

Spaces are limited to 8 participants per session and course.
