Visible Mending course on Wednesdays at 6-8 pm starting with introduction sessions on 15.2.2023.
Sustainable fashion expert Kasia Jamrozik of Upstitch Studio will show you how to enhance damaged clothes with more or less visible hand mending techniques. With the motto ‘put your money where your values are’, Kasia is dedicated to reducing waste from fast fashion. This course welcomes everyone from beginners to experts: repair methods include Swiss darning, patching, mending, embroidering, and Sachiko.

Kasia will provide needed tools and materials – much of which she sources from Kierrätyskeskus (Recycling Centre) and Dome Upcycling. However, you are welcome to bring any of your own equipment. and if you have already found just the right thread please bring it along.
Classes are ongoing monthly and take place 4 times per month of which you pay only 3 times every month! In February and March we also offer visual mending introductory sessions. The first monthly teaching period takes place in March 2023. Every first Wednesday each month is also open for purchasing single classes.
The visible mending classes take place at Dome Upcycling work space in the Itis shopping mall in Helsinki. You can find the space here.
